Company History
In 1948 Howard E. “Sam” Ayers and a friend built a homemade drilling rig to drill water wells for their newly purchased properties in Kirtland, Ohio. News traveled fast. Builders and homeowners from around the area quickly began requesting wells to be drilled. By the early 1950’s, Sam bought a factory made drilling rig and with the help of family and friends began installing water wells and pumping systems throughout Northeast Ohio and Ayers Well Drilling was born.
After Sam’s untimely death in 1970, his youngest son Jim returned home from college and began running the company that he had been working for since he was fourteen years old.
Throughout the 70’s and 80’s the business grew to include more employees and modern equipment including rotary drilling rigs, pump pulling trucks, and multiple service crews
In the late 1990’s, Jim’s sons, Mike and Jimmy Ayers began working for the business. Jimmy manages both the pump and water conditioning divisions, while Mike assists in all aspects of the business while also providing in underground utility local.
Today, Ayers Well Drilling has been providing personalized solutions to their customer’s water needs for over 65 years. Our company has built our reputation on prompt and honest service for all those individuals and companies that rely on well water in Northeast Ohio. We have thrived through three generations of family members and look forward to being your single source water contracting company for many years to come.
