Water Well Cleaning and Rehabilitation
Protect the quality of your water with help from Northeast Ohio’s #1 well cleaning experts.
If your home relies on a well system for water, you know how precious every drop can be. You also likely notice changes in your water or system – iron deposits on your clothes, sinks or toilets, filter changes that seem to happen more often. Or, worst of all, running out of water or experiencing lower flows.
If your well system isn’t performing like it should, Ayers Well Drilling can help. Our well cleaning services include well rehabilitation and other smart solutions to keep you up and running reliably.
What is water well cleaning and how does it differ from well rehabilitation?
Have you ever left water sitting in a glass for a long period of time, and noticed a slime or film forming? Water that’s exposed to oxygen allows bacteria to grow – creating slime, oxidized iron and manganese. The same thing can happen inside your well.
Well cleaning is like washing your drinking glasses on a regular basis. Once a year, cleaning your well will strip away any slime that’s growing, helping your system perform and keeping your water safe for drinking. Our well cleaning truck features a rotating crane to reach even wells that are in difficult locations. We offer up to 400 gallons of chlorinated water for flushing, and specialized cleaning tools that fully cleanse the borehole of iron and sediment. The well cleaning process will also help open fractures in the bedrock that supply your well with water.
Our well cleaning truck is also specifically tailored for water well rehabilitation. Well rehabilitation is typically performed every 7-10 years to ensure a lasting water supply from your well for many years to come.

What our customers have to say
How Do We Professionally Clean Wells?
Did you know that there are two different ways to clean a well? Both chemical and mechanical methods can rid a well of bacteria, but we’ve found the best solution is often a combination of both methods. We’ll determine the best choice for your well depending on its age and condition. Here’s what you can expect:
MECHANICAL CLEANING
Mechanical cleaning involves physically scrubbing the inside of the well using wire brushes and scrapers, in combination with rinsing out the resulting debris using pressurized air, water and sonic waves. Mechanical cleaning helps loosen debris and encrustations from water well walls, screens and other well components.
CHEMICAL CLEANING
For wells that have high iron content or that aren’t accessible with our machine, we offer an alternative option: Bore Saver Ultra C, an iron reducing bacteria treatment for wells and basements. Bore Saver Ultra C is a safe and effective way to remove the iron oxide deposits that build up in bores, wells, pipes and pumps. It not only cleans the equipment – it also improves the quality of your water, helping to increase water output and extend the working life of critical pumping equipment. BoreSaver Ultra C is NSF approved for potable water supplies and is safe, biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
Think of it this way: you can hand-wash your dishes (mechanical) or let the dishwasher do the work (chemical). If you’ve got a roast pan that’s got baked on grime: you might want to do both.
